  Overview Arriving in Prague
We arrived in Prague (on our bus) with Nygil telling us what we were to expect.  We were concerned about the language barrier (both verbal and written), but it turned out not to be a problem.

What We Learned Watch out where you`re going
Sept 17, 2010

As you're walking around Prague watch where you're going.  The roads are small stone blocks and are easy to trip over.

If you happen to trip be careful how you break your fall.  My left hand caught a curb and dislocated my ring finger.  Putting it back in place wasn't a big deal, but having to have my wedding ring cut off was (taxi to the hospital, bolt cutters to remove my ring, etc).

Anyway...WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING not at the art work (like that shown here) after dark.

What We Saw City of Litomerice
Sept 17, 2010
On our way from Dresden to Prague we stopped at Litomerice for lunch and to exchange dollars for Czech crowns.

Wikipedia: One of the oldest Czech towns, Litomerice was established in the 10th century at the place of an early medieval Slavic fort. The royal town statute was granted in 1219. From the 12th to the 17th century it was a significant trade center in the Holy Roman Empire.

  What We Saw Theresienstadt
Sept 17, 2010
Wikipedia: Terezen (Czech pronunciation: [ˈtɛrɛziːn]; German: Theresienstadt) is the name of a former military fortress and adjacent walled garrison town in the Uste nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic.

We spent an afternoon at Theresienstadt.  Theresienstadt was a unique camp run by the Nazi during WW II.  Unlike other camps this one was intended to convince the outside world that the people living here were in good hands living a 'normal' life.  They repeatedly fooled the Red Cross and others throughout the war.

Radim, our tour guide, made his anger and disgust clear with all that happened in the camp.  The Czech`s have been through a lot.  The Nazis were not the start, just one more hideous episode in the history of their country.

What We Saw Old Town Square
Sept 17, 2010
From www.PragueExperience.com:  The Old Town Square (Staromestske) is one of two main squares in the city centre. With its ancient buildings and magnificent churches, this is one of the most beautiful historical sights in Europe.

Dating back to the late 12th century, the Old Town Square started life as the central marketplace for Prague. Over the next few centuries, many buildings of Romanesque, Baroque and Gothic styles were erected around the market, each bringing with them stories of wealthy merchants and intrigue.

  What We Saw Prague Castle
Sept 18, 2010
 We found this interesting
CASTLE OVERVIEW

As you can see from the Castle Map (from the Prague Castle website) Prague Castle is layed out differently then most castles built later.  There two palaces (Old Royal Palace and Rosenberg Place...both on the south side of the castle).  There are four religious buildings on the inside grounds of the castle.  The two most prominent buildings are St. Vitus Cathedral and St. George's Basilica. Both are separate building in the interior court yard.  The third, Chapel of Holy Cross islocated in the eastern courtyard and  All Saints' Church, is contained inside the Old Royal Palace.  Since we took a lot of pictures in and around the Castle, We've broken them into these entities and then the Castle itself.
